Villas give you something apartment dwellers do not have: choice. With glass patio doors, wooden doors, and solid walls all available, your cat’s route in and out can go almost anywhere. The only question is which route suits your home best.

Most villa installs we do go into the glass patio door, because that is where cats already gather, watching the garden. Here is how cat flap installation in Dubai villas typically works.

Villa patio glass door with a fitted cat flap in Dubai

Option 1: The glass patio door

A replacement glass panel is made with the flap cut-out already in it, then swapped for your existing panel. The original panel is kept intact, so you can swap it back any time. Clean look, no frame damage, and the flap sits at the perfect height for your cat.

Option 2: A wooden door

Utility doors and kitchen doors in villas are often wood, and a flap cuts in neatly with the frame covering the edges. Best for doors you own outright, since the cut is permanent. Landlords in rented villas usually prefer the glass route.

Option 3: Through the wall

For garden walls or villa boundary walls, a tunnel kit extends the flap through the wall thickness. Ideal when no suitable door exists, and common in Arabian Ranches and Damac Hills where garden access matters.

Villa-specific tips

  • Go microchip. Villa gardens attract visiting cats, and a microchip flap keeps them outside.
  • Think about the maid’s room door. Cats often prefer a quieter route than the main patio.
  • Check the garden gate. A cat flap is only useful if the garden itself is escape-proof.

Flaps wear with villa dust and heat, so it pays to know when to repair your cat flap versus replacing it.
