- Start with the flap taped open For the first 2–3 days, use some clear tape to hold the flap open. Your cat can see outside and walk through without any push.
- Use treats and praise Place her favourite treats right outside the flap. Call her name and celebrate like she just won the lottery when she goes through.
- Gradually lower the flap Once she’s comfortable, lower the flap a little each day until she learns to push it herself.
- Make it fun at night Many cats love using it after dark. Leave a small light on the balcony so she feels safe.
Pro tip from our Dubai team: If you have a microchip flap, make sure her chip is registered before installation – it makes training even smoother.
