Rollup mosquito nets are low maintenance, not no maintenance. Dubai dust settles into everything, and a rollup screen has tracks, a cassette, and mesh that all collect it. A few minutes of care now and then keeps the pull smooth and the mesh clear.

Here is the routine we recommend to our customers.

Hand cleaning a rollup mosquito net mesh with a soft cloth in Dubai

Cleaning the Mesh

  • Pull it fully down: Work with the screen extended so you can reach the whole mesh surface.
  • Brush first, wipe second: A soft brush lifts the loose dust. Follow with a damp cloth, wiping gently so you do not stretch the mesh.
  • Let it dry before retracting: Rolling up a damp screen traps moisture in the cassette. Give it a few minutes in the airflow.
  • Never use harsh cleaners: Strong chemicals weaken mesh fibres. Mild soapy water is all you need.

Cleaning the Tracks and Cassette

Wipe the side tracks with a damp cloth to clear the dust that makes the pull bar drag. A soft brush along the cassette opening stops buildup where the mesh enters the housing. If the spring feels stiff or the mesh retracts unevenly, that is a job for us, not for forcing it.

Our rollup fly screens for mosquito windows in Dubai include servicing the mechanism when cleaning alone is not enough.
